Snorms on mac, I finally did a correct package

I have finally got a mac, it means I can a lot more easily build and test Snorms for Mac. Before that I was using a friend’s mac to test, and so I couldn’t do a lot more than just testing that the game actually worked. Now I have more time to work on Mac, and the first thing I did with it was to package a correct app in a dmg file. So now all you have to do is use the dmg file to play Snorms, and it will be correctly integrated to the desktop (correct icon and such)...

Snorms 2.0 changelog

Why is Snorms version 2.0 ? because of this huge changelog ^^ Changelog for Snorms 2.0: Main changes Added top view support: you can choose top view or isometric view on first launch (or by going into the options menu) Added controller/gamepad support (disabled by default): it defaults to Xbox360 gamepad on Windows (I don’t know why, but axis 0/1 are inverted under Linux), but you can remap axis/buttons in the options. Playing with controllers is a bit different than keyboard/mouse, it’s almost like playing on Android devices. Added achievements: there are 100 achievements such as finding other game references, betting some best time (speed run!), getting 100% completion,… UI Bigger font, bigger buttons New font used, Bitstream Vera Sans Mono Graphical UI elements have been rewrote (buttons, checkboxes,…) Removed save selection screen, as it wasn’t used that much. It can easily been reintroduced later...

Snorms 2.0 has been uploaded on Desura, update soon

I’ve uploaded the last update of Snorms on Desura (version 2.0), I tested it and everything seems fine so far, I will post a complete changelog soon (it will be a huge changelog ^^) As always, there could be some delay due to Desura validation process, but they are usually quick, so it should be available soon.I’ve also finished the apk (Android version) giveaway process, I am just waiting for them to change a few settings on Snorms parameters to allow it. Alien Blitz free has also been updated on Google Play Store, there is a very small mistake that I need to correct (loading text is not entirely visible), except for that it seems ok. The Alien Blitz full version is ready too, but not yet published....

Test successful

I’ve finished all tests, and made a lot of small changes on maps, balance and such… So PC version and Android full version are now ready to publish. I will now be working on side-stuffs (videos, press release,…) before release. And I should get a mini-mac next week, so I will be able to finish mac release, and then I will make all this public ! I’m now considering Snorms and Alien Blitz completed (except for bug fixes and minor updates). Snorms is my first public game, and Alien Blitz my first Android game, so I’m very pleased that all this is now completed. The development was quite chaotic as I had to find a job during development in order to get a little more money (it stopped development for almost a year), I changed my mind a lot of times (which I think is...

Testing…

The PC version is now almost complete: Added controller setup and rewrote most of the options screens Added top/isometric view selection Corrected lots of bugs, too many to be listed Changed the way levels are displayed, now the full level will be visible, but unexplored parts are darker than explored ones, and you can’t see items/monsters in unexplored parts Wrote a page to download the APK (from generated keys or Desura, like Humble Bundle do) as it’s not possible to give keys for apps on Google Play Store Updated release script, to include libgdx and other misc stuffs I am currently doing a full run of the PC version, mainly the Isometric levels, as I have already tested the top view levels for the Android version. I have finished testing episode 1, and am now working on episode 2. Everything is going quite smoothly, and...

Full version first test run successful

Alien Blitz has been updated (but not yet uploaded) Added some arrows around the screen to notify player when an outbound monster is shooting or locked Added a visual indication of the ammo left under the weapon name Corrected auto shooting when exiting a menu Grenades now bounce a lot less, and they can be shoot quicker Reduced ammo consumption of bouncing laser gun Increased spreading of double shotgun, and increased its reload time Fire boss will shoot less napalm & particles on Android (could cause lag issues) Corrected miscellaneous bugs in maps of episodes 2 & 3 I’ve successfully did a full run of episodes 2 & 3 on my Nexus 7, I’ve corrected some balance issues especially with high level weapons. I had some very small lags on the second boss and final boss, so I removed some particles and effects. It’s now...

Alien Blitz has been updated: Corrupted save detection: if the save file is corrupted, it will be erased (as nothing can be done about it) Added more exception trapping, in order to be sure I get a bug report in case of error Best times are now saved for each map, 4 categories : “Any %”, “100 %”, “Nightmare Any %”, “Nightmare 100 %” Added some more references and their corresponding achievements, there are now 100 achievements in the game Moved some achievements from episode 1 to episodes 2 or 3 Uzi will now shoot a little quicker than before Shotgun has been slightly nerfed (reload time / damage) Renamed current beta version to “Alien Blitz free”, removed beta screen warning Full version is called “Alien Blitz” Added an achievement list screen (in the Options) Corrected all maps for episodes 2 & 3 Most of...

Alien Blitz episode 2 & 3 will be ready soon

I began working on episodes 2 & 3 lately Converted all maps to top view, I now have to check if they actually work, and correct lighting issues Corrected some bugs on monsters from episodes 2 & 3, there were not that much actually, but I think I will get more bugs when I do the testing Changed spirit behavior, in Snorms it was a small monster hard to aim, now I made it very strong as aiming is automatic on Android Added camera button for Rifle & Railgun, when pressing this button you will be able to move freely the camera, and lock a monster far away Created a new sprite for the player in isometric mode, it’s some king of mecha armor, it’s not perfect, but I’m quite happy with it. I think both episodes will be ready in a few days, then...
